Gama controversy probe by EU Commission

The EU Commission is to intervene in the Gama controversy.

It plans to investigate allegations that immigrant workers were exploited while employed by the Turkish construction firm's Irish operations.

The commission has agreed to carry out an inquiry into whether labour laws are being breached.
