Gadget Shop jobs in peril

More than 620 employees at the Gadget Shop were braced for redundancy today after the retailer lost its fight for survival.

The administrator of the collapsed UK-based chain said it was unable to save the business after two bidders walked away from a lifeline deal.

PKF, which took control of the Gadget Shop last month, said the potential buyers were concerned about retail spending and the supply of stock.

The remaining 45 outlets of the Gadget Shop will shut over the next four weeks, suffering the same fate as 10 other outlets which were closed by PKF last month.
