Knock International Airport today announced passenger figures up 102% for the first quarter of 2005.

Knock International Airport today announced passenger figures up 102% for the first quarter of 2005.

Passenger numbers climbed 106,383 between January and March 2005, compared to 52,626 in the same period last year.

Liam Scollan, chief executive of Knock International Airport said: “We are delighted that the airport is well on target to reach half a million passengers by the end of 2005.”

March 2005 was the busiest March in the history of the airport, with 44,185 passengers, compared to 20,813 for the same month in 2004.

January saw an increase from 14,721 to 27,085, while February’s figures rose from 17,092 to 35,113.

In January the three millionth passenger passed through the airport.
