London market cheered at Allied Domecq takeover talks

Drinks giant Allied Domecq today confirmed it was the subject of takeover interest from rival French group Pernod Ricard, which counts Midleton, Jameson, Powers and Bushmills whiskeys among its brands.

The Bristol-based company, which counts Beefeater gin and Malibu among its brands, said it was holding talks with Pernod about its interest.
