Ireland's richest person is Hilary Weston, the wife of Canadian Galen Weston, who owns Brown Thomas, A-Wear and BT2 in Ireland.

Ireland's richest person is Hilary Weston, the wife of Canadian Galen Weston, who owns Brown Thomas, A-Wear and BT2 in Ireland.

The Sunday Times rich list estimates her fortune to be around €7.5bn.

It is her first time to appear on the list after the rules were changed to include wealth generated outside of Britain and Ireland.

The Dublin-born 63-year-old former model divides her time between Ireland and Canada and the couple also have a home in Windsor Great Park in the UK.
