Massive economic boost for west Belfast
West Belfast was given a massive economic boost today with the announcement that the UK’s largest privately-owned marketing company is setting up a contact centre creating hundreds of jobs.
LBM said the call centre was expected to create 300 jobs within four months, rising to 750 in around a year.
Recruitment has already begun and training of the first staff is due to begin next week with an opening date sent for mid April.
It is anticipated the project will generate more than £50m (€72.8m) in wages and salaries over the next five years for the local economy.
The company setting up in the Springvale Business Park – a new Targeting Social Need area.
Announcing the investment Leslie Morrison, chief executive of Invest Northern Ireland, said: “This project is a positive demonstration of the company’s confidence in the skills and capabilities of the Northern Ireland workforce and the region’s ability to attract quality inward investment.”
