Turkish company VitrA has opened its new €8m ceramic tile plant in Arklow Business Park with the promise of 30 new jobs to add to an existing 80-strong workforce.

Turkish company VitrA has opened its new €8m ceramic tile plant in Arklow Business Park with the promise of 30 new jobs to add to an existing 80-strong workforce.

The new plant increases VitrA's production capacity by almost 60%, from 1.2million to 1.8million square metres and raises the total value of the company's investment in Ireland to €16.6m.

With the beginning of operations at the new plant, VitrA Ireland aims to raise its turnover to €20.8m in 2005 and its market share from 5% to 8%.
