JCI makes Euro Social Model recall
Junior Chamber International officers and European members have called for European leaders attending the two-day summit of European Union leaders which kicked off in Brussels on Tuesday to revitalize the European Social Model.
Summit participants are reviewing the Lisbon Agenda, a strategy drafted by Europeans heads of state in 2000 with the goal of establishing Europe as the world's most dynamic economy by 2010.
Topping the agenda at the summit will be discussions on jobs and growth.
Ann Mettler, Lisbon Council Director, presented an open letter co-signed by JCI President, Irishman Kevin Cullinane, to European Commission President José Manuel Barroso at the summit, asking European leaders attending the summit to revitalize the European Social Model around three core concepts: inclusion, sustainability and opportunity.
JCI is a worldwide federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs with nearly 200,000 active JCI members.
