Lower cost of living attracting workers to north-west
Lower property prices and a lower cost of living are encouraging workers to relocate to the north-west of the country, according to the Collins McNicholas recruitment firm.
The company said a survey of workers it had helped relocate to the north-west found that 78% decided to move for these two reasons.
A further 31% said they were attracted to the region because of less traffic congestion.
More than one-third of respondents also said they took a cut of up to 20% in their salaries to move to the north-west.
