Heineken Ireland has reported turnover of €311m in 2004, up 2% on the previous year's figures, with market share rising 0.4%.

Heineken Ireland has reported turnover of €311m in 2004, up 2% on the previous year's figures, with market share rising 0.4%.

Heineken Ireland said it now holds in excess of 17% share in the off-licence trade sector, whilst commanding 20% of the on-trade sector.

Stout continues to suffer with a 6.9% downturn in 2004, with ale experiencing a 13.6% decrease year on year.

Speaking at the announcement of the Brewery’s results, Nico Vervelde, Managing Director, Heineken Ireland, said: "The drinks industry is going through a particularly difficult time with changing consumer and societal needs and demands."

Heineken lager, the Brewery’s flagship brand, retained its coveted top position, with a 39% share of the draught lager market.

Coors Light continues a strong and sustained performance in 2004 , with increased sales volumes up 24% on 2003.
