Australian company launches manure toilet paper
An environmentally friendly manufacturer has created its first batch of paper from marsupial manure.
Landowners around Burnie in Tasmania state helped scrape together 55lbs of kangaroo and wallaby dung for Creative Paper Tasmania to make its first batch of the unique paper pulp, manager Joanne Gair said.
āItās a great product for tourists but itās also something that gets our eco-friendly message home to a lot of people,ā said Gair, whose paper products contain no wood.
The completed sand-coloured sheets will be embossed with āGenuine Kangaroo Pooā, she said.
Roughly 400 A4 sheets can be made from 55lbs of the fibrous droppings. The creation was inspired by the success of the elephant dung paper industry in Africa.
