ISME welcomes 'green card' plan

ISME has welcomed the plan by Government to introduce a green card system for migrant workers as a "sensible" decision.

ISME chairman Robert Berney said the demand for migrant labour is unprecedented with 175,000 work permits issued in the last five years alone.

ISME said a work permit system should be a prerequisite to targeting highly skilled employees.
