ISEQ up 15.99

The ISEQ closed up 15.99 points at 6618.92 this evening.

Bank of Ireland saw the biggest gains in financial stocks, up seven cent to €12.27. Bank of Ireland Asset Management today announced two further senior appointments to its investment team.

Anglo Irish Bank rose a cent to €18.80, AIB was up two to €15.51 and Irish Life an Permanent fared worst, down five cent to €14.07.

Pharmaceutical giant Elan saw its shares slip back to €22.04 after a buoyant morning. That was still up 34 cent on the opening price but fell back from a dramatic 55c rise this morning.

Glanbia shares were up 13 cent. The company is to announce full year results on March 2.
