Nortel sign 3G deal with Chinese equipment firm

Communications company Nortel and the Chinese State-owned telecommunications equipment firm China Putian Corporation, have today signed a framework agreement to establish a joint venture for the research, development, manufacture and sale of third generation (3G) mobile telecommunications equipment and products to customers in China.

China Putian Corporation is one of the largest telecommunications equipment manufacturers in China.
