A P&O ferry ran aground in powerful winds and heavy seas off the Scottish coast this morning.

A P&O ferry ran aground in powerful winds and heavy seas off the Scottish coast this morning.

The ferry was en route from Larne.

A spokeswoman for its operator, P&O, said no-one had been injured and there was no risk to the 100 passengers and crew on board the ferry.

Clyde Coastguard is helping in the refloating attempt.

A tug is en route to assist in the operation.
