Esat BT appoints new chief operating officer

Esat BT today announced the appointment of Mike Maloney as Chief Operating Officer, reporting to Bill Murphy, chief executive.

Mr Moloney’s appointment will take effect on January 17.

Commenting on the appointment, Bill Murphy, Chief Executive Officer, Esat BT said: “His depth of experience on both a national and international level will greatly enhance our capability as a major IT and network services player in the Irish market."

Mr Moloney joins Esat BT from EuroCommerce, a software services company providing global payment-processing and related services to large multi-national merchants.

He previously worked with Gateway and Digital Equipment Corporation.
