US stocks were mixed in a listless session today as investors collected profits for a second day despite an unexpected drop in unemployment claims.

US stocks were mixed in a listless session today as investors collected profits for a second day despite an unexpected drop in unemployment claims.

The market was heartened by the latest Labour Department report, which showed continued strength in the US labour market. First-time jobless claims fell by 5,000 to 326,000 last week.
