Snow globes still popular after 100 years

As his grandson tells it, it began as a project by a man trying to build stronger lights for operating theatres in hospitals in Vienna. Instead, the first snow globe was born.

More than 100 years later, a craftsman in the Austrian capital has turned his grandfather’s fluke discovery into an enterprise beloved the world over.
