The Irish Hardware and Building Materials Association (IHBMA) has predicted that Irish-owned companies will create 2,700 jobs in the hardware and DIY sector over the next 18 months.

Eddie Battersby, the president of the association, said today that continued strong growth in the sector and investment in the expansion and development of new retail outlets was leading to increased demand for staff among IHBMA members.
