Danes to buy two Irish banks

Denmark’s biggest bank is to buy two major Irish banks in a deal worth almost €1.4bn.

Danske Bank’s purchase of Dublin-based National Irish Bank and Belfast-based Northern Bank is its first major European acquisition.
