Fresh evidence of a slowdown in the British housing market emerged today when official figures showed price growth faltered in October.

Fresh evidence of a slowdown in the British housing market emerged today when official figures showed price growth faltered in October.

The average price of a house in the UK in October stood at ÂŁ180,444, up from ÂŁ179,201 in September, according to data from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
