Prize Bond holders win over €10m

Prize Bond holders have won over €10m in tax free prizes so far this year, according to figures released by The Prize Bond Company.

Over 100,000 prizes have been awarded, ranging in value from €75 to the monthly jackpot of €150,000.

Whilst there are winners from every county in Ireland, the hot spots for winners this year have been Dublin, Galway, Cork, Kerry and Tipperary.

The frim said there has been a strong growth in the number of bonds purchased over the last four years.

Commenting on the figures, Michael O’Keeffe, Chairman, said: "Prize Bonds offer a low risk option to investors, and are particularly attractive in the current low interest rate environment.

"Sales of Prize Bonds have been steadily increasing and of course this time of year is a particularly busy period, since many people purchase Prize Bonds as gifts for friends and family."
