German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder arrived in Beijing today for a visit expected to include talks on trade and the European Union’s 15-year arms embargo on China.

German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder arrived in Beijing today for a visit expected to include talks on trade and the European Union’s 15-year arms embargo on China.

Schroeder was due to meet Premier Wen Jiabao later today and President Hu Jintao tomorrow before visiting the north-eastern city of Changchun. He travels to Japan on Wednesday.
