Justice Kelly launches guide to business deals

The head of the Commercial Court, the Honourable Justice Peter Kelly, has launched a new service for business lawyers.

The Irish Commercial Precedents Service details legal precedents for 40 of the most common business transactions taking place in Ireland and provides plain English guides to the transactions themselves and the legal provisions governing them.

The guide was written and edited by Sean Wallace and Alex Nesbitt, a partner and consultant respectively with commercial law firm BCM Hanby Wallace.

Speaking today, Sean Wallace said: “The increasing activity in commercial transactions at all business levels reflects the increasingly entrepreneurial culture in Ireland.

"We hope that this publication will assist all lawyers and business people to understand the legal issues and to guide them through what are complex and often sensitive transactions.”
