EasyJet announces new Belfast services

Northern Ireland got another three new air links today as easyJet announced new services to Belfast.

EasyJet said it was launching services from Belfast International Airport to Geneva, Palma and Inverness in July 1 next year.

The Inverness route will be daily while flights to Palma and Geneva will be four times a week.

EasyJet said it recognised the “great potential” for low cost services connecting Northern Ireland with attractive cities throughout Europe.

Ray Webster, easyJet chief executive said: “easyJet views Belfast as a vibrant and highly attractive market with great potential and we look forward to announcing more new routes to main city destination airports in the near future.”

Northern Ireland Tourist board chief Allan Clarke said the announcement of the Geneva and Palma services was good news and “yet another signal of private sector confidence in Northern Ireland”.

Nine international air routes have been secured for Northern Ireland in less than a year ago – this time last year there was just the easyJet service to Amsterdam.
