New CEO for Kingspan

Construction company Kingspan has announced the appointment of Gene Murtagh Jr as chief executive officer for the group from January 1 next.

Mr Murtagh has been with the group for 11 years and, at the moment, hold the post of chief operating officer.

In another change to the board announced this morning, former EU Commissioner David Byrne was appointed a non-executive director. Mr Byrne served in the EU as Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection between 1999 and 2004, after a spell as the Government’s Attorney General.

Kingspan opened its day’s trading on the ISEQ at €6.69.
