ISEQ finishes the week with modest gains
The ISEQ index ended the week with a slight increase of 6.93 points to 6,016.90, after a mixed day for stocks.
Financial stocks recorded gains and losses. AIB gained 5c to €14.65 and Anglo Irish added 16c to €17.04. Bank of Ireland shed 4c to €11.50, while Irish Life & Permanent lost 6c to €13.11.
Elan stock continu8ed to build on recent gains, adding 35c to finish the week on €21.
Builders Grafton Group said the date by which all the conditions of its offer for Heiton Holdings must be satisfied has been extended from November 29 to December 20.
The proposed acquisition is under investigation by the Competition Authority, which was informed about the deal on September 10. On October 1, it asked Grafton and Heiton for more information.
Grafton stock is trading at €7.52 on the ISEQ, up 2c in today's trade. Heiton stock is down five cent to €6.65.
