Esat BT revenues up 25%
Esat BT today announced a 25% increase in revenues from €138m to €173m in the half year to September 30 compared with the same period last year.
Revenues for the quarter rose by 27% to €94m. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for the half year grew 12% to €13m.
Over the course of the half year, the company secured a number of high-profile business contracts including Bank of Scotland, Barclaycard, Brown Thomas and EDS.
Esat BT boss Bill Murphy said “The transformation of our business continues to accelerate and we are seeing good growth in new wave revenues."
In the period, the company launched EsatBT.com, their online business model.
Mr Murphy said that broadband, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and mobility would continue to be key areas of focus for the company. He added that the renewal of the government’s VPN (Virtual Private Network) contract next year presented the company with exciting opportunities in the public sector.
Esat BT employs more than 900 people in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford.
