Vodafone today announced the launch of Vodafone live! with 3G for Irish consumers.
From the end of November, Irish postpaid customers will be able to buy 3G handsets and content-rich services including video streaming and downloading, mobile TV, video-calling and 3D games.
In addition to Ireland, Vodafone live! With 3G will be available in Austria, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
Vodafone Ireland will initially offer four 3G handset models to consumers: the Motorola V980, the Nokia 6630, the Sony Ericsson V800 and Europe's first two-mega-pixel camera phone, and the Sharp V902.
Prices start at €169.
Vodafone spent €114m on its 3G licence in 2002.
Vodafone Ireland’s CEO Paul Donovan said: "Today ushers in a new age in communications. From the outset, Vodafone Ireland is committed to delivering quality 3G services and we are now ready to fulfil this promise ahead of the competition."
