ISEQ buoyed by Warner Chilcott stock
The ISEQ index of Irish shares climbed slightly to 5634.98.
The relatively flat 12.58 upward movement was down to a mixed performance by the financials (including a jump of 19 cent in Anglo Irish Bank stock to €15.24) and small movements up and down by other stocks.
Bucking the flat trend was today's biggest mover, Warner Chilcott (formerly Galen), stock in which rose 43 cent to €11.98. The Northern Ireland-based drugs group yesterday confirmed an approach that could value it at more than £1.5bn (€2.15bn).
