CEM launches 'Micro Browser' facility
CEM Systems has announced the release of a new Micro Browser facility with the "webEntry" system enabling a selection of system functions to be performed using a mobile phone.
webEntry is revolutionizing the access control market by allowing users to control and monitor their property no matter where they are via the internet.
webEntry is totally web-based allowing all functions to be administered on the systemâs web pages using any networked PC that has Microsoft Internet Explorer installed.
âThis new Micro Browser facility highlights the true flexibility of the webEntry system,â said Andrew Fulton, business development director at CEM Systems.
âUnlike other systems in the small-to-mid range, webEntry does the work for the client allowing the user to get on with their business safe in the knowledge that no matter where they are they will be kept informed of any system events and can quickly update their system via the internet.â
The new micro browser facility gives even greater functionality for users by taking a selection of webEntryâs web pages and displaying them for use with a small screen web browser such as found on a PDA or mobile phone.
System users can now use their phone to perform a number of system operations including changing the status of a cardholder if their card is lost/stolen, put a trace on a specific cardholder or view last time a card was used. It also ensures that the user can immediately view any system events such as alarms. You can even use a mobile phone to open a door via the internet.
With the ability to support 10,000 cardholders and up to 32 doors, the webEntry system offers a unique security solution for small-to-mid sized premises and is already widely installed throughout many organisations including schools, banks and small offices.
As it is totally web-based, there is no dedicated PC or access control software required ensuring costs are kept low.
The web interface means it is easy to use without specialist training for anyone that has used the web, whilst installers appreciate the simple âPlug and Playâ set-up.
