Esat BT enjoys success at London awards

Esat BT has enjoyed success in the Best National Carrier category at this year’s World Communication Awards.

The prestigious awards ceremony was held in London yesterday. This year’s awards were the most competitive yet with just 22 operators being shortlisted from a total of 123 entries.

Bill Murphy, CEO, Esat BT said: “This endorsement illustrates the range and depth of our expertise, and the rapid progress we are making in the Irish marketplace as a recognized communications industry leader."

The judges said the Esat BT entry was all the more impressive "because they're not the incumbent in the market where it has only recently become possible to compete effectively".

A wholly-owned subsidiary of BT Group, the company is headquartered in Dublin with offices in Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford. It employs more than 850 people.
