ISEQ down again as Iona recovers yesterday's losses
The ISEQ index mirrored the FTSE in a slight decline today, dropping 9.7 points to close at 5668.0.
Iona Technologies bounced right back after yesterday’s losses making a 9.3% gain today, closing at €3.28.
Ryanair was again among the day’s top-traded shares, finishing the day down 6c (1.6%) at €3.81.
Pharmaceutical company WCRX (formerly Galen) was climbing, following confirmation from the company of a third takeover bid. Its closing price was €12.00, up 18c, or 1.5%.
Bank of Ireland was again the busiest share on the index. It closed down 12c (1.1%) at €10.92. The bank apologised to its customers for a two-hour period today in which ATM and Laser transactions were impossible.
Anglo Irish Bank was up 6c at €15.06, AIB dropped 3c to close at €13.82, while Irish Life and Permanent slipped by just 1c to €13.15.
Elan was down 14c at €18.67.
