British house prices up again

House prices in the UK were back on an upward path today after figures from the Halifax showed the average cost of a home increased by 1.4% during September.

Despite the rise, which followed a 0.5% fall in August, the Halifax said the overall picture was still one of a slowing in house price inflation.
