ISEQ has positive start to the week
The ISEQ index enjoyed a positive start to the week's trading, climbing 56.89 to close the day at 5,697.50.
Allied Irish Bank shares climbed 21c to €13.67 while Bank of Ireland shares were up 12c to €11.02.
Shares in Anglo Irish Bank slipped 5c to €15.15 while Irish Life & Permanent shares were up 20c to €13.31.
Shares in Ryanair were up 4c today. The airline announced this afternoon it had sold its fleet of 20 Boeing 737-200 aircraft to Autodirect Aviation, including spare engines and parts for a total consideration of $10m (€8.15m).
Shares in the business support services company, DCC continued to climb, rising 35c to €15.35.
Meanwhile pharmaceutical Elan saw shares climb 35c to €19.30 today. The company said it would show a $55m charge in its first half results - to be published this week - for legal costs.
Other movers included Iona, which saw shares climb 30c to €3.30 and building materials group CRH, which saw shares rise 22c to €19.49.
