€5m investment planned in Clare plant

€5m is to be invested in the Olympus Diagnostica production plant in Co Clare, which employs 230 people.

IDA Chief Executive Sean Dorgan has said the extension positions the plant at the cutting edge of a high value industry with great prospects for the future.

He has said it is precisely this kind of investment the IDA is seeking to attract here, in the drive to enhance Ireland's reputation as a knowledge economy.

Olympus Diagnostica is a systems provider for In Vitro Diagnostics.
