Franchise award nominations launched today

The Irish Franchise Awards 2004 were launched today to recognise businesses and individuals for the development of the franchise sector in Ireland over recent years.

The awards were launched by John Green, chairman, Irish Franchise Association. They have been inaugurated by the Irish Franchise Association.

Figures from the latest Franchise Survey show the 2003 turnover of franchise systems to be €1.272bn and employment at almost 20,000, an increase of 12% per annum.

The Awards categories are: Franchisor of the Year; Franchisee of the Year; Best Emerging Franchise; Franchise Person of the Year Award.

Nominations are open until September 28 and an independent panel will judge entries.

The presentations will be made at an Awards Dinner at the Burlington Hotel on October 19.
