EUjet Dublin-Shannon flights cancelled
EUjet, the Shannon-based scheduled airline, has announced that it will not be proceeding with its scheduled service on the Shannon-Dublin route.
The decision by EUjet to launch scheduled services between Shannon and Dublin was taken on the understanding that Aer Lingus did not plan to continue operating this route.
EUjet now understands this is not the case.
EUjet CEO PJ McGoldrick said: “Originally we had no plans to operate scheduled services on Shannon – Dublin.
“We were clear that we did not believe that the route would sustain two carriers.
“We conveyed this belief to Aer Rianta when they approached us.
“We have no intention of launching a service which will not be sustainable. This would not be in the best interest of EUjet, our passengers or indeed the greater Shannon region.
“However, opportunities from Shannon are always under review and if there is a case that the route becomes available, we will examine it at that stage.”
