Business groups welcome scrapping of carbon taxes
Business groups have welcomed the Government’s decision to abandon its plans to introduce carbon taxes in an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The Fianna Fáil-Progressive Democrats coalition decided to scrap the planned tax due to the financial burden it would place on businesses and consumers.
IBEC, which campaigned against the tax, has described the Government’s decision as a significant result, while the Small Firms Association claimed it was a victory for common sense.
