ICSA urges Govt to resist introduction of GM foods
The Irish Cattle and Sheepfarmers Association has called on the Government to take urgent measures to make the island of Ireland a GM-free zone.
The association made the call in response to the EU’s decision to approve the sale of genetically modified maize in all member states.
It said the EU was opening its doors to GM technology without adequate consideration for consumer concerns and large corporations would be the only beneficiaries.
