Sky recruits more staff for Irish operation
Sky News Ireland has announced it is recruiting more staff for its news operation.
The positions of offer include executive producer, producers, picture editor, news operations assistant, production assistant and satellite operator/engineer. The expansion will bring the number of people employed by Sky News Ireland to 30.
The service also plans to increase the size of its newsroom to expand its technical capacity.
Sky Ireland boss Mark Deering said: “This latest investment underlines Sky’s commitment to Ireland."
The Sky News Ireland service - which was launched in May - broadcasts two half-hourly bulletins each evening at 7pm and 10pm and is anchored by Gráinne Seoige.
The service is available to two thirds of Irish households via cable, mdds and satellite.
