WH Smith rings the changes

WH Smith is to add coffee shops and mobile phone outlets to its stores as part of a drive to revive its fortunes.

The company has given the go-ahead for Virgin Mobile to have eight concessions in its outlets while Costa Coffee will operate from at least 20 sites. Both ventures are on a trial basis and could be extended if successful.
