ISEQ rises 7.73 in morning trading
The ISEQ index has climbed 7.73 points in morning trading today, rising to 5,207.96 at 11.15am.
Allied Irish Bank shares have risen 5c to €12.70 while Bank of Ireland shares climbed 8c to €10.73.
Shares in Irish Life & Permanent have crept up 6c to €12.45. Anglo-Irish Bank shares slipped 5c to €12.95.
Meanwhile shares in Irish pharmaceutical Elan have continued their recent slide in trading today. Elan shares have slipped 25c to €13.90 in morning trading.
There was better news for Northern Ireland pharmaceutical Warner Chilcott, formerly known as Galen.
The Craigavon-based company announced strong quarterly results for the period ended June 30, with revenues at $113.9m (€92.8m), an increase of 13% over the same quarter last year. Today Warner Chilcott shares are trading at €8.35.
Shares in CRH have risen 3c today to €18.09 while bookmaker Paddy Power is having another tough day in trading, slipping 7c to €9.75 today.
Ryanair shares are unchanged, trading at €4.08.
The main movers today are CRH, AIB, Ryanair, Kingspan and IAWS.
