Oil prices continue to rise

Oil prices remained near record highs on both sides of the Atlantic today as concerns mounted over supplies.

In London, the cost of a barrel of Brent Crude rose to $40.99 (€34), the highest level since trading started in 1988, before edging back to $40.86 (€33.90).
