Hanson builds profits despite setbacks
British brick and concrete firm Hanson today said first half profits fell 26.4% in the face of a poorer UK infrastructure market, the weaker dollar and higher pension costs.
Hanson said net profits dropped to £73.7m (€111.3m) from £100.1m (€151.3m) last time after what it described as a “mixed” performance during the six months to June 30.
