Ryanair has announced eight new routes linking eight European countries.

The new routes, which will commence on dates between September 20 and December 1, bring the Ryanair network to 161 routes across 17 European countries.

The new routes will link London Stansted with Santander, Riga and Zaragoza; Rome's Campino with Paris Beauvais, Santander and Eindhoven; Frankfurt Hahn with Riga and Santander and Tampere with Riga.

Commenting on the announcements today, Ryanair boss, Michael O’Leary said: “This year Ryanair will carry more than 27 million passengers who will save €2.7bn over the high fares of other airlines.

"It is notable that for the first time Ryanair’s low fares will now be available in northern Spain, and in Latvia."

Ticket prices start at €3.99.
