UCD professor appointed to IAWS board

Professor Patrick G Wall has been appointed to the board of food company IAWS with effect from yesterday.

Prof Wall is a professor of food safety in the Centre of Food Safety in University College Dublin.

He is also a member of the management board of the European Food Safety Authority, a director of FPS Biotech Ltd and a member of the Food Safety Advisory Board of Numico.

Previous positions held by Prof Wall include chief executive of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and Consultant in the UK National Health Service.

Prof Wall is both a veterinary surgeon and a medical doctor.

In addition to Professor Wall’s medical and veterinary qualifications, he also holds an MBA from the Michael Smurfit School of Business, UCD.

IAWS shares on the ISEQ were trading at €9.86 at 10.30am.
