ISEQ falls back 21c today
The ISEQ dropped back 21.15 today to close the day at 5,414.87.
Weak financial stocks helped bring the index down.
Bank of Ireland slipped 21c to €10.59 while Irish Life & Permanent plummeted 32c to €12.65.
AIB's losses were not so severe - down 6c to €12.37; nor were Anglo-Irish shares, slipping back just 1c to €12.93.
CRH was among the day's winners. Shares in the building materials firms climbed 15c to €18.10.
Ryanair stocks were traded heavily. Shares in the company closed up 6c to €4.69.
Bookmaker Paddy Power climbed 10c today to close at €9.60. Paddy Power and RTE have announced a new broadcast sponsorship deal which will see the bookmaker sponsor all live horse racing televised on RTE.
But pharmaceutical Elan was among the day's losers. Elan shares dropped 7c to €19.88, although it recovered from a mid-morning loss of 25c.
Medical diagnostics firm Trinity Biotech lost more than 12% of its share value today, dropping 32c to €2.33.
Warner Chilcott, formerly known as Galen, was up 6c to €9.53.
