Hillery replaces O'Reilly as INM Chairman

Dr Tony O'Reilly has resigned as chairman of Independent News and Media.

Dr Brian Hillery, a former Senator and member of Dáil Eireann, will replace Dr O'Reilly in the role.

Tony O'Reilly will continue in his position as chief executive of the company, however.

The move was not unexpected as he had signaled his intention to drop one of the roles in line with best practice recommendations for running publicly listed companies.
