Asda offers free eye tests - for Swiss

British supermarket chain Asda announced it was offering Swiss nationals in the UK free eye tests following England’s controversial exit from the Euro 2004 championships.

The company said it followed the decision by Swiss referee Urs Meier to disallow Sol Campbell’s late goal that looked set to clinch victory for England over Portugal.

Asda promised any Swiss an eye test for free at one of its 68 in-store opticians.
